How can I set up tracking to know if if a user plays an embedded video? I read in another support post that you can “create a trigger for a ‘Watch Video CTA’, then you can track how many user clicked that button. However embedded Vimeo videos just have a play button, and I think it’s the same for Youtube videos. Is there another way I can track this?

    Thanks

    Hi James,

Yes, that’s the issue. Because the play button in embeded videos are inside an iFrame, we can’t track it.
You can track if your users click to oEmbed but you can’t detect the event if it’s play or pause.

An alternative option is to use a custom video player, like Plyr which support embed (YouTube or Vimeo) videos as well, and has a custom play button with separate class. The Plyr implementation will require some development input.

    Hope this helps.
