    Hello,

    Can we enable a Global Policy Control (GPC) ?, with this feature if the user has enabled the GPC, the browser has defined the cookie configuration the user wants, and our page should detect that configuration and modify the cookie settings depending on the preferences of the user’s browser.

    How can we do that with GDPR Cookie Compliance Cookie?

    Hello,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

    The ‘Global Policy Control’ is an interesting concept and we may be able to add this feature to our plugin.

    The question remains: if the user indicated via ‘Global Policy Control’ that they do NOT want to be tracked, what should happen with our cookie banner?
    Should we NOT show it to user at all and take it as if user clicked REJECT to all cookies?

    Please note, the only cookies that we could prevent from storing would be those that are generated by the scripts added to our cookie plugin.

    In my opinion if the user indicates via GPC that they don’t want to track, we don’t need to show the banner, just disable all cookies that “sells” information to 3º parties, like Google Analytics or facebook. But I let you to think in the best option.

    When do you think that this feature can be added? I think it is important be acuse recently I saw a news that a french company (Sephora, Inc) received a lawsuit.

    So we should not wait to start complying to GPC,

    Hello,

    Thanks for providing further information.

    Our engineers will look into the technical requirements for the GPC integration next week. After that we will have an estimate for when this feature can be added in.

    Hello,

    We made a research into this and found that there is only a single browser that supports this feature: Firefox 95 and ‘User must explicitly enable this feature.’

    More info here.

    So we added this feature to backlog and plan to eventually added it to our plugin, but due to the very low support from browsers currently, we don’t anticipate this to be useful feature for some time.

    Although only one browser support it by default, there are extensions that can allow to use GPC like this one: https://spreadprivacy.com/global-privacy-control-enabled-by-default/

    I don’t know if this will be useful either, but my concern is if is mandatory in some countries,

    Hi,

    Our lawyers have seen in the CCPA policies that we need to allow users to use GPC, here the oficial information:

    https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa

    On the “What is the GPC” section, in the last sentence says:

    Under law, it must be honored by covered businesses as a valid consumer request to stop the sale of personal information.

    So at this point we need a reasonable and more defined time frame to know when this feature will be available in your plugin, if we don’t have it we will need to move to another GPPR/CCPA compliance plugin,
